In the creation of the MDS business model, the founders of MDS considered the question "What if Global Warming is real?" MDS founders sought to create a business model that would address Global Warming while simultaneously addressing other 21st Century business issues.

In the early 1990s, at the time that the MDS business model was created, little was publicly known about Global Warming. Today, international Global Warming conferences continue to explore the source of the warming of our planet and what can be done about it. Recent meetings have focused less on the cause and more on the potential effects.

While effects remain unclear, scientists are now pointing toward the near term rather than the distant future for serious climate change to occur. Scientists recently released estimates that if the global burning of fossil fuel is not reduced by 60-70% in the next few years, the earth's climate will run away during the current generation's lifetime. How can this level of reduction be accomplished without drastic economic and life style changes?

The MDS business model allows for a tremendous reduction in fossil fuel burning. It has been reported that all of the computers in the U.S. consume only two percent of the U.S. electrical energy. The amount of fossil fuel burned in the production of electrical energy is small compared to the amount burned in transportation to and from work.

Proliferation of the MDS business model would mean that people could drive which ever vehicle they wished and still contribute to a Global Warming solution. Later, introduction of hydrogen powered vehicles and alternative sources of electrical power generation would further reduce fossil fuel burning. Unlike other solutions, proliferation of the MDS business model can be accomplished with today's technology. It is a solution that can be implemented with in the next few years.

During the past ten years MDS has shown the model works. The majority of transportation fuel that MDS personnel expended was in sharing its success both locally and internationally. Scientists from around the world now believe that Global Warming is real and caused by fossil fuel burning. Solutions to Global Warming must be implemented on a Global rather than on a regional scale.

The founders of MDS recognized that adults are not only the guardians of the world's children, but also the guardians of the planet for the children. It is the responsibility of the parents of the world's children to exercise efforts to provide a future climate suitable for human existence.
